Not all of Scott & Toner Avenue (Lake shore) were represented by the Sanborn Maps of 1906 & 1914! Missing was what is the most important part of Scott & Toner
Avenue - the area in and around the Vandalia Depot - the very "infamous" area called "One Block West of the Depot" in all the nortious
ads of the 1880's. 1890's and early 1900's. I personally can't imagine why this area with its depot, hotels and restaurants was not
detailed in these maps; the 1924 map is the first accounting of the area besides some on the plat maps of the previous times.
In 1926 Scott and Toner Avenue was changed in name to Lakeshore Dr.
